SUMMER CAMP
Sal Caccavale Soccer Academy has been running summer camps for over 15 years and continues to grow every year! Summer camp is a fun and inclusive environment for kids of all ages and skill levels. While all of our campers come to have fun, the reason our camp is different and better than other soccer camps in the area is the training environment and the improvement campers will make throughout the summer.
Campers range from 6-19 years old and all attend camp with the same goal - to have fun and get better! We have an amazing coaching staff that have all played college or professional soccer that interact with players throughout the morning and even hop in some of the afternoon games! It’s truly a family environment at Sal’s Summer Camp! Our camp involves technical development, a ton of gameplay, weekly awards, and a lot of fun! Kids will really enjoy the atmosphere our camp offers and will be wanting to come back for more.
ELITE EVENING TRAINING
These sessions are attended by players of all ages that are serious about developing to play at the highest level possible.
Over the years, we have been involved in the training of many current and/or former professionals (both MLS and Europe), NCAA Division 1,2,3 college players, and many of the best high school Varsity and JV players from all around the DC metro area. These sessions are intense yet so amazing to play in or to come out and watch. Players that attend these sessions will have the opportunity to see/play with some of the best players that have come out of the DMV area recently.
In 2019, many of the Georgetown Hoyas attended our sessions before their amazing season which crowned them National Champions. We also had players from the University of Maryland, Clemson University, College of Charleston, Colgate University, American University, and George Washington University attend our sessions.
These evening sessions have become the premier spot to train throughout the summer in the DMV.

Head Coach
Sal Caccavale
Coach Sal has been running summer camp in the DMV area for 15 years and continues to provide an amazing experience for soccer players of all ages and skill levels. Sal does a great job getting all players engaged in the camp and creates a family environment. Over the years, he has transformed the camp from a small camp, into arguably the biggest and best summer camp in the DMV area! Sal runs a tight ship at St. John’s and makes sure players learn but also have a ton of fun! Sal’s enthusiasm and charisma rubs off on the staff and players to create fun-filled camps!
Head Coach
Vincent Caccavale
Coach Vin has been working summer camp with Sal for 6 years now. Vin started coaching at Sal’s camp when he still attended NYIT, as a summer job. Vin is thrilled to be in DC full-time to continue growing the camp. Coach Vin is known at summer camp for his amazing play in “Horseshoes”, and remains unbeaten. Vin gets involved with all activities during camp and even hops in games which adds to the atmosphere during camp. Vin, a lot like Sal, is very loud and outgoing which allows for campers to settle into the camp quite quickly.
Head coach
Jesse Lauritsen
Jesse grew up in DC and met Sal at the age of 8 at Sal’s summer camp. Jesse trained with Sal for many years prior to Sal becoming the head coach of Wilson High School in Jesse’s sophomore year. Together they won two DCPS Championships, before Jesse went on to play 4 years of Division 3 college soccer at Oberlin College. After earning a starting spot as a midfield, Jesse played every minute of every game and captained Oberlin his senior year earning First Team All-NCAC his Junior and Senior year. He is coaching with Sal at Achilles FC.
Coach
Stephen Harlan
Stephen will be part of the summer camp staff for his 2nd year running. As a player growing up, Stephen attended Sal's camp and has very fond memories throughout the years. He now looks forward to creating new memories as a coach and the chance to leave an impact on players. Coach Stephen played college soccer at the Division 1 and Division 3 levels - while attending Villanova University and Franklin and Marshall, respectively. Stephen just finished his first year with Achilles FC and the SJC Boys Soccer Program and looks forward to many more.
Coach
Foster McCure
Foster is a sophomore defender for Georgetown University’s Men’s Soccer team. Foster grew up in the D.C area and met Sal when he was 8 years old and did not miss a year of summer camp, following his first experience, and has had the privilege to see it grow into what it is today! Foster has learned an incredible amount from Coach Sal both regarding the game of soccer and life in general. Foster is giving back to the Achilles family by developing quality players and continuing the journey he started at 8 years old with Sal.
Coach
RJ White
Born and raised in Washington DC, RJ was fortunate to have Sal Caccavale as his Wilson High School Coach at the age of 15 and won two championships with Jesse and Sal in his Sophomore and Junior year. Following Wilson, RJ went on to play 4 years at the Division 3 level for Arcadia University where he received a BS in Business Administration. Without the help of Sal, the Achilles family, and a lot of hard work, none of this would have been possible. Rj has been a part of our summer camp coaching staff for 4 years.
Coach
Beau Johnson
Beau played travel soccer for DC Stoddert. Beau attended St. John’s College High School where he was a 3 year varsity starter at right back, and was awarded WCAC Honorable mention as junior and First Team All-WCAC as a senior in 2016. He also captained the Cadets his senior year and helped transform the SJC soccer program into what it is today. Beau is currently attending Salisbury University and plays Division 3 college soccer. Beau has started every game for the team since his arrival. Beau has been a part of our summer camp staff for 3 years.
