Achilles FC Welcomes Coach Nate Baker!
BIG NEWS! Achilles FC welcomes Coach Nate Baker as Technical Director and Head Coach of U17 & U19 Academy Teams
Coach Nate brings his coaching experience from US Naval Academy, University of Nebraska, and most recently, D.C. United.
“I’m extremely excited to be part of Achilles Football Club and help build upon the foundations of the most exciting project in youth soccer. The club’s vision is holistic and developmental, which creates an incredible environment for all to be part of. I can’t wait to get started.
As Technical Director, I’m looking forward to using my experiences in the game to help build on the excellent work that Sal, Vin, and the coaching staff have already completed in four years’ time. Achilles will not only be the club to be a part of in the DMV, but we will aim to be the standard for youth development in this country.” – Nate Baker
Founder/CEO/head coach Sal Caccavale also weighs in on the decision and what it means for the future of Achilles FC:
“I am beyond excited and quite proud to announce Nate Baker as the Technical Director and head coach of the 17’s and 19’s Academy teams at Achilles FC. Nate is an experienced coach, and incredible soccer mind, who has the ability to take Achilles FC to the top of the youth soccer landscape. Dubbed by MLS as one of the top 5 Academy coaches in the country, ready to make the jump to coaching at the first team level (https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020/03/18/5-mls-academy-coaches-ready-make-jump-first-team-travis-clark), Nate was the obvious choice when thinking about the next coach to bring into the organization. Nate is one of the best coaches in the entire country.
His philosophy and ideas on teaching the game along with his experiences as a former pro and coach is the perfect fit for Achilles FC. I’m excited to be bringing in the best, to work with the best, to develop the best, to continue to attract the best, to become the best. I can’t wait for Nate to begin implementing his ideas into Achilles FC.
The future is very bright for our players.” – Sal Caccavale
